Our Phoenix

Our Phoenix

The phoenix is a powerful symbol often associated with renewal, transformation, and resilience.

In the context of
She Who Soars,

the phoenix represents the journey of women rising above challenges, adversity, and limitations to emerge stronger, wiser, and more empowered.

Like the phoenix, women in the organization’s mentorship programs undergo personal growth, overcome obstacles, and experience transformation as they soar to new heights in their lives and careers. The symbol of the phoenix embodies the spirit of resilience, perseverance, and empowerment that She Who Soars aims to cultivate in women, inspiring them to rise above circumstances and thrive despite setbacks.

Our Phoenix

Symbolizes the resilience of women who triumph over obstacles, hardships, and constraints, emerging more empowered, insightful, and formidable.

Dominique Bush

Senior Vice President

Dominique Bush is  a wife,  a mother to 4 amazing children that include a set of twins boys and two beautiful daughters, and most importantly a Woman of  Virtue. She is an ambitious woman who is always willing to take on a challenge.  She enjoys helping others reach life goals that appear to be unreachable.

Dominique is naturally a leader and mentor in all aspects. The skills she acquired in life were developed at an early age.  She has always been the identified one in her family as different. Why you ask? Because she always wanted more than what was in front of her and knew she could have all the things that she desired. Growing up in poverty with a hard working, single mother she seen and suffered many things that many never imagined. She survived the struggles of mental health.  Despite the stigmas of society, the idea of having to be strong, and self doubt she persevered and walked out of the battlefield stronger than she entered.

Despite the odds of life that have been against her, she never allowed it to stand in her way. She put God first and put one foot in front of the other. Dominique rose from ashes into HER Phoenix, adjusted her crown and now walks with the strength of knowing she can get through all things with Christ as her focal point.

Jennifer Winget

Board Member/Secretary

Jennifer Winget is the Secretary of She Who Soars, and one of the contributing inspirations behind the nonprofit.

She is a military spouse of nearly 20 years and a Breast Cancer survivor, in remission now for almost 2 years. Being a military spouse is tough in its own right, being far from home and relocating year after year. So being diagnosed with breast cancer thousands of miles from friends and family was devastating.   It was a long road and one she continues to work on rebuilding but is finally healed and at peace in her journey.

Jennifer has always been someone who cares about people and will do anything to help them. She was a gestational surrogate for a family. She carried 5 baby girls, 2 sets of twins and 1 single baby all for the same family.

Thinking long and hard about what she wanted to represent her journey, she came upon the Phoenix. Because just like the Phoenix, she rose from the ashes stronger and beat what was meant to break her.
